General requirements

 

    • Age: Must be at least 18 years old (21 if driving interstate). 
      Driver's License: Possess a valid Washington State driver's license. 
      Disqualification: Have no lifetime driver's license disqualifications. 
       
      Medical: A DOT Medical Card is required. 
      Tests: Pass the written knowledge test and the CDL skills test an air brake end.
       
      Training: Complete training from a registered provider. The amount of training depends on the CDL class: 160 hours for Class A and 80 hours for Class B or C. 
       
      Documents: Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency, and your Social Security number. 
       
Training and testing

 

    Training: 

The required training hours vary by class. A Class A CDL requires a minimum of 160 hours, while a Class B or C CDL requires 80 hours. 
    Knowledge Test: 
Pass the written knowledge test which includes general knowledge and may require additional endorsements like air brakes or combination vehicles. 
    Skills Test: 
After passing the written test, you must pass a skills test, which includes a pre-trip inspection, a basic control test (backing), and a road test. 
 
 

 

In Washington State , the minimum     required  training for both  a Class B abd C is 80 total Hours

The 80 hours of Trainingf break down like this:

Classroom Instruction is 40 hours

Street Driving is 14 hours

Backing Maneuvers  8 Hours

Proficiency Development  8 hours

Combined Lab, Range, and Observation  10 hours

SCHOOL BUS ----- PASSENGER--Requirements

A valid wa state drivers license, Class  A or B  , School Bus, Passenger and Air Brake Endorsement

A CDL medical Card

A minimum of 30 hours of training which includeds 20 hours of classroom and 10 hours of proficiency developement  For Passenger  14 hours of training are required  (4 hours classroom, 10 hours) proficiency

to receive both Passenger and school Bus you need 30 hours (20 classroom and 10 Proficiency hours)
